Can I feed my dog a vegetarian/vegan diet?
Answer: The simple answer is YES! Absolutely, just as vegan humans stay healthy so can your pets! You could simply use the Sojo’s Complete Pre-Mix and you can add Eggs for protein. We actually have our diabetic clients use this recipe and it works wonderfully!
How can I naturally help my dog beat seasonal allergy symptoms?
Answer: A correct diet is the single most important element of having an allergy free dog! We find that we cut out the “kibble” (aka ANY DRY DOG FOOD) almost 80% of your pet’ allergies immediately go away! Bagged dry food has many allergens, not to mention the dust mites that just come with the bag alone! The best way to test this method is simple, take your dog off the dry dog food, switch to a 100% SOJOS diet and see the proof in the 4 furry legs in front of you, I promise it is hard to miss. The rich healthy skin and hair coat, no runny and itchy eyes, and no more licking paws and legs!
Do you have any tips for dealing with extra shedding in the spring? Can a change in diet help?
Answer: Yes of course. Again switching to a raw diet is the best way to eliminate any shedding and problems with having a poor skin and hair coat. I would recommend any line of the SOJOS and I would add in a good Omega 3 or 6 Oil in their food. You could also use a teaspoon of coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil!
How do I transition my picky-eater kitty from a kibble diet to a raw diet?
Answer: Cats are tough, most would rather starve themselves than eat a food they simply do not like. Cats get addicted to the shape and size of their food as well. I would recommend mixing the food gradually. 25% new/ 75% old, 50% new/ 50% old, 75% new/ 25% old, then 100% new diet! This usually works the best in our experience.
My dog likes to eat his own poop. Is this normal? What can I do to stop this behavior?
Answer: This can be a normal behavior or a bad habit. You can add some fresh pineapple to the meals, which imparts an odor to the smell of their feces that they do not like, which will stop this behavior.
