November is Pet Diabetes Month. I will be sharing various diabetes tips with all my pet loving friends this month. To begin, I want to share some alarming statistics. Currently 3.8 million people worldwide die from diabetes and diabetes related illnesses each year. In the last 20 years the number of people with diabetes has skyrocketed from 30 million to 246 million. The number of pets with diabetes has also exploded. Today over 1.4 million dogs and cats suffer with diabetes. That translates into one out of every 500 dogs and one out of every 200 cats being diagnosed with diabetes. Obesity is a major underlying cause which we will discuss and offer natural pet solutions to remedy. By 2025 there will be approximately 380 million people living with diabetes, and we can only imagine the number of pets that will be afflicted with this illness. Developing countries now have the highest number of new diabetes cases in people. India ranks first with the largest number of human diabetics at 40.9 million. Second is China with 39.8 million cases.
