Cat scratch disease is caused by an organism called Rochalimaea henselae. This is a gram-negative bacteria and a member of the Rickettsia family.
Zoonotic Diseases in Immune Compromised Persons
Individuals with reduced immunity are more susceptible to Zoonoses, i.e., people undergoing cancer therapy and/or those positive for HIV, and should take extra precautions around pets.
