Coronavirus-Sniffing Dogs Could Provide Boost in COVID-19 Testing

Coronavirus – COVID 19 Update: When it comes to man’s best friend, the nose knows. Thanks to their extraordinary sense of smell, dogs are already proven to be skilled at detecting diseases like malaria and cancer in humans.

And now, canines are being trained to sniff out COVID-19.

Nationally-recognized veterinarian Dr. Carol Osborne said the animals will have the ability to screen several thousand people per day, leading to a much-needed expansion of testing in the U.S. and other nations fighting the pandemic.

Dr. Osborne talked with KRLD’s Chris Sommer.
